Kem began exploring the benefits of yoga almost 20 years ago, attending class when traveling and attempting poses through the guidance of videos or books. When the opportunity to commit to her practice presented itself, she embraced it. Kem’s practice and teaching is grounded in exploring and learning more about the physical and emotional experience that yoga can offer by discovering new ways to connect within the mind, body and breath.
Kem obtained her 200 ERYT and is currently working towards her 500 ERYT. She practices experiential and movement-based psychotherapies and trauma sensitive yoga for children and adults and has held day camps and workshops. Kem offers yoga for recovery and addiction, vinyasa flow, restorative and creative movement yoga. She offers private sessions and is yoga alliance affiliated.
As a teacher Kem hopes to create a space for others to share the way her practice has helped her feel – encouraged, challenged and supported all the while discovering the therapeutic healing opportunities that yoga can provide. She feels yoga is far more than a trendy, physical practice. She wants to honor the lineage of teachers from the past. She considers herself a student and always will.
Kem believes you cannot teach people anything, you can only help them discover it within themselves. She invites you to travel through sequences and flip your perspective as you stretch, balance and breathe.
Kem is a Board Member of the Kentucky River Children’s advocacy Center “Care Cottage”. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the trauma experienced by child victims of sexual abuse and invites you to learn more…..
